The Fender Telecaster Custom - a classic 70s design, but not all the guitars that appeared in the history of CBS Fender were well-made instruments. At the same time, on the other side of the Pacific Ocean, the quality of guitars coming off Greco's production lines was excellent. This refers to the Greco Golden Era, which lasted from 1973 to 1985 of the XX century. The Greco Spacey Sounds TC 500 Tele Custom is the 1973 hot Japanese version of the cult American Fender Telecaster Custom, released in 1972. This is one of the most difficult to find Greco guitars because of its limited release and relevance among artists and collectors. Fender inscriptions, which Japanese manufacturers considered necessary to affix for greater persuasiveness and identification with the original, are still flaunting on the neck plate and the "bath" of the bridge. The tablets were forced to disappear in early 1974 due to CBS claims of patent infringement by Greco. The TC 500 is one of the coolest vintage telecasts you can find today. It transmits the entire spectrum of sound - from the singing warm sound of natural bass on the neck to the "burnt glass" on the bridge. There is also a “magic tonal spot” when using both sensors and a tone knob rotated 80%: this is true, with a slightly cropped top, the sound of a true twangy telecaster, although this is one of the possible tones. The highlight of the bridge is the combined saddles made of stainless steel and brass - this is done to achieve a special "telecast" balance of the sound of the strings during a chord play. This guitar was restored by a qualified guitar master: frets were replaced, a finish was made (restoration of the varnish coating and color), a certain pickup was cut off, a complete replacement of the electronics and instrument tuning were made. The instrument is in excellent condition, sounds like a true Fender Telecaster, and this is the case when the build quality is really higher than that of the Fender guitars of the CBS era.
