The legendary Ripper bass guitar from Gibson, which came off the American assembly line in 1974. Production of this model was completed in 1984, so such tools are very rare on the market. This bass gained its popularity due to such stars who played it as Jack Bruce ("Cream"), Andy Fraser ("Free"), Glenn Cornick ("Jethro Tull") and, of course, Krist Novoselic ("Nirvana"), which thereby forever elevated the instrument to the status of a classic rock bass guitar. The bass deck is made of three pieces of maple, and the neck glued into it is made of six (three-the array of the neck, the fingerboard and two wings of the head of the neck). The instrument is equipped with two "super-humbuckers", also an interesting feature is the installed four - position switch of the pickup modes (1 "in phase —series"— the wave peaks of each sound are summed up, the sounds are turned on sequentially; 2 "bridge only — single" — only bridge sound; 3 "in phase — parallel" - the wave peaks of each sound are summed up, the sounds are turned on in parallel; 4 "out of phase — series" - the wave peaks of each sound are subtracted, the sounds are included sequentially) In positions 1 and 3, the sound is deeper and more powerful, with pronounced high frequencies, in position 2, a softer "jazz" sound, and in position 4, a sound suitable for playing in the directions of old rock or funk. The bass guitar remains in its original form, with the exception of the Hipshot SuperTone bridge, which allows you to accurately adjust the beaker without too much effort, and gives you more sustain and attack. An excellent vintage instrument from Gibson, which boasts not only its texture, but also sufficient versatility and variability of sound.
